Facebook Application Profile Page Migration

Facebook migrates Application profile pages with Facebook pages. It means, you will have no longer an application page after 1 Feb 2012. And nowadays, you can see a warning message in your application profile page below:

It comes with 2 questions that how can i communicate with my app user community? and how can users add my application to their facebook pages? (if it is compitable with page tabs)

First question’s answer is easy, you can create your application community page from Developers section under application settings > Advanced tab > Contact Info part.

But the second question is a little bit tricky. Facebook forces developers to create their own badges for their users to add the application.

It is a code block which is:

It redirects to a dialog popup for adding app to page. Also you can give this address directly to your customers:

Beni yakından bilenler araba hastalığımı da iyi bilirler. Arabada yatıp kalkacak kadar delisiyim veletlerin. Modifiyesi idi, beygiri idi, motor sesi idi artık iş fetiş bir noktaya kadar varmış durumda. Amma velakin İstanbul trafiği, günlük otopark çilesi benzin derdi vesaire derken bayıldığım yeşil devim Scirocco’mu satmıştım birkaç ay önce. Hala satın alan İzmir’li arkadaşla da konuşuyoruz Facebook’tan bu arada. O derece bir bağ yani…

Sattım ama yeni aldığım ilk oyuncak Fiddle oldu. SYM markasının Vespa-vari çıkarttığı bu modeli tercih etmemdeki sebep, hem geçici olduğundan ucuz olsun hem de kolay satılabilir birşey olsun diye idi. Scooter binenlere motorcu neden denmediğini de anlamış oldum.

Gerçekten motordan sayılabilecek bir araç değil ta ki Duke satın alana kadar. Ufak lastiklerinden ötürü Scooter çok konforsuz olması ile beraber emniyetsiz de bir velet. Hatta Serdar Kuzuloğlu geçtiğimiz haftalarda Vespa’sı ile ıslak zeminde düşmüştü. Ben de çok ufak bir kaza atlattım benzer bir şekilde Fiddle ile.

Duke’e geri döneyim. 2. motorum ve henüz 1.000km ama kısa sürede epey dolandım İstanbul’da. Amerikan Avusturyalı KTM firmasının Hindistan’da üretilen bu 125cc 15bg. modeli, tam şehir içi düşük hızda rahat kullanımı olan bir model. Manevra kabiliyeti çok yüksek, konforu Scooter’a göre daha iyi ama tabii bir enduro değil bu motor. Spormoto getiriyor Türkiye’ye ve fiyat olarak seleflerinden pahalı (4.000Euro) ama bir Vespa’dan ucuz. Vespa’ların gereksiz pahalı olmasından kaynaklı o da zaten.

KTM Duke 125 & SYM Fiddle 125

Araba vs. Motor olayına gelirsem, genelde motorsiklet kullanmayan herkeste şöyle bir kanı var: Taksiler, dolmuşlar çok sıkıştırıyor. Vallahi beni henüz sıkıştıran olmadı, bunun nedeni de motorsikleti araba gibi kullanıyor olmam da olabilir. Çok fazla aralardan gitmedikçe, birkaç püf nokta bildiğiniz zaman da, hiç bir sorun yaşamıyorsunuz trafikte. Yalnız bariz bir nokta var ki İstanbul’da anadolu yakasında motorsiklet kullanmak, avrupa yakasında kullanmaktan 10 kat daha kolay. Çünkü anadolu yakasında araba kullanıcıları hem daha bilinçli hem de avrupa yakasındaki gibi de bir hurra bir tarafa yetişecez koşturmacası yok sanırım.

Şehir İçinde motorsikletin In ve Out’ları da bence şöyle:

IN‘ler:

• Ucuz – Benzin parası %25 gibi birşey. Otopark parası yok.
• Hızlı – Son hız bakımından değil, trafik olduğunda bile sen ilerlediğinden her yer max. 15-20 dk. mesafedesin
• Stressiz – Trafik sorununa güle güle
• Park etmek kolay, her yer otopark sana
• Servis kolaylığı

OUT‘lar:

• Riskli – Kaza anında mutlaka yaralanıyorsun, ne kadar koruma takarsan tak.
• Rahatsız – Üstünde kask, mont, eldiven, dizlik, .. var.
• Çalınma riski var.
• Kaskosu pahalı.
• Enduro değilse uzun yolda artçı işkence çekebilir.
• Kötü havalarda daha deneyimlemedim ama sıkıntı yaratabilir.

Şehir içinde ama birebir ideal kesinlikle, özellikle güzel havada Bebek’e, Bağdat Cad.’sine araba ile gidilen x saat yolu, 10 dk.’da gitmek de çoğu kişi için artı olabilir.

Facebook Applications IE7 Session Problem

Facebook changed the way behaves to applications. What the new approach is, now on Facebook forces applications for developed in iFrame. So you can not select FBML anymore in the Application Settings Page. In this step, if you are using Sessions in your code, you will not be able to see expected results in IE7 because of its own bug. * You can just google it..

IE7 has a bug about Session expires in any refresh while you are inside an iFrame. To achieve this issue, you have to define P3P in your code (at header). For development this code will be life-saver..

Censorship in Turkey. Reloaded.

We have been dealing with censors too much nowadays. The regulations and also executions are forcing to do censorship. The biggest censorship was started with Youtube, than some local websites, and then blogspot.com. Now, a new ridiculous sanction is mailed to all Turkish domain name providers. According to this new regulation, we can not register domain names with the keywords listed here.

Of course, in Twitter especially, no one is supporting this nonsense behavement. But as we experienced before from these kind of censorships; I can say that, this one is the biggest limitation supported with laws directly till now. Actually, from now on, we can only hope to permenant deletion of this regulation from laws.

I like data visualization (?) and if it is meaningful data for me, i like it more.. And if it is a social network thing, i adore it! Wee Places is also that kind of adorable visualization service. Yeah i was thinking same shit, but ok i accept, they did it first..

What is it special about Wee Places? You can guess about whats going on there, but let me explain. You just sync your Facebook Places, Foursquare and Gowalla accounts. Your checkins will be added automatically to Wee Places to show up in the map.

Google Docs Syncs Windows Office Officialy

Google Docs launched its new add-on over Windows Office for early users (Google Cloud Connect). Also we know that it is a new Google-integrated version of DocVerse which is acquired by Google in March 2010. But the main thing is, by this add-on, every user behavior will be / should be changed! Ok, MS Office users may love its platform but, come on guys! You have to be online as Google does.. This is a big fact that Google has the ropes in their hands nowadays so being platform-independent is the most valuable thing, so for me; the main point is you have to be up-to-date in every platform.

The biggest positive aspect is to share your file via Google Docs, and track the file’s history as you did in the past if you used Google Docs. Maybe the small trick which will be the most useful is to see if there is a conflict occured while you were editing your file with someone else at the same time. You got it? You are editing your file in MS Office, and someone else is too at Google Docs, the same file, at the same time. Sounds cool, isn’t it?

A Mashable Meet-up: Istanbul

Social media meet-ups so popular nowadays; but the fancy thing is, when someone outside your country comes to your meet-up, the language changes (Turkish to English for example:), the subjects change, also what you drink changes

That is what happened in 30 Jun at Indigo Pub. Marketoloji.com was the host of Mashable‘s worldwide meet-up and my very new friend Mite Kuzevski (follow him @kuzevski) has joined us. And as you can guess, the meet-up turns to a multicultural geek area..

And the biggest suprise was my best friend Ertan (he has no Twitter or Friendfeed account at all, he is from another galaxy) started to talk Serbian with Mite (who is macedonian, from our galaxy)
